My trip to Germany started in Lithuania. I had ferry from Klaipeda to Sassnitz. On the ferry I had a little accident that led to a beautiful time on it. My cabin was for two persons, so, female, shared. My “neighbour” was drunk and crazy woman. After some minutes spent together she caused troubles... She thought that I am not student but the slut who’s going to Germany to work in night clubs! I was so shocked, so couldn’t even say a word. Then she went to reception, took the key from another cabin and went away. I slept alone. Thanks God for this.
After ferry I met Anton, the cousin of Anastasia (my friend). Anton is a really nice guy, friendly, modest, hospitable. Already after he met me he took me to his house to introduce me to his family. His mother (naturally Ukrainian one) is a very kind person. She stood on my place, understood how scary it is to be alone abroad. She took my phone number and gave hers. So, in case of any problem I have some people here to help me. That’s really “German” hospitality!
He lifted me to Ulrike (Couch Surfing project’s hostess). She is also hospitable and funny! She has a little problem with English, but we can understand each other somehow. Sometimes she uses German-English dictionary and so, it becomes funnier! To find a word we spend some minutes, and when we finally find it we both laugh then. :D Ulrike gave me pillow and blanket, so I slept like a queen. The couch is soft and big. In the room I slept in are amount of books around! Everything is on German, and seems like they are about everything on the Earth. About other countries, about different cultures meals, about mother and child, dictionaries, and of course hundred books of classics. A lot of pictures of her family (Ulrike, her son Jannik and daughter Luisa). Some pictures are from their travels.
About one hour ago I heard a door ring. I opened, and can you guess who was there? Two old ladies who asked me if I want to receive religious books and magazines, if so, I need to write down my contacts. I said that I believe in God, and it’s pretty enough for me. They’ve gone away with a very big smile on their faces. Zombies. Funny zombies.
Now is 11:49. I still am in the bed. I had plans to go outside for a walk, but I couldn’t close the doors with her keys. So, seems like I need to stay at home till 17:30, when she comes. Then, probably, Anton will catch me to help in some stuff... First, I need to buy and register German mobile number, then, to open German bank account, and then, just to see what’s around... Ah, forgot to mention, that Anton is a taxi driver, so he knows all streets and main touristic places to show me.
By the way, my first impression of this land is 100% positive! People are nice here and houses are beautiful!
